You Are Gifted For A Divine Purpose

We all know the story of Joseph. He dreamed about a future in which he would be the ruler over many people. He was sold into slavery, unjustly imprisoned, and forgotten about. But after all of that, he was still able to say that what was meant for evil, God meant for good.

Joseph knew that everything that happened in his life was ordained by God because he had a purpose to fulfill.

How about you?

Do you wake each morning knowing that you are about to use your gifts to fulfill God’s purpose for your life?

Are your days filled with joy and passion because you’re using your gifts for the Lord?

Each one of us is so precious to our Heavenly Father. He doesn’t care whether you have a title or not. Nor does it matter to Him whether you’re well-known to the masses or an unknown. You are His beloved.

The Message Bible states in Psalm 139:13-16, “Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out; you formed me in my mother’s womb. I thank you, High God – you’re breathtaking! Body and soul, I am marvelously made! I worship in adoration – what a creation! You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something. Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you, The days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day.” You were never an afterthought for the Lord. You’re His child and He loves you.

Just as earthly parents give gifts to their children, your Heavenly Father gives gifts as well.

Romans 12:6-8 and 1 Corinthians 12:4-7 list most of the spiritual gifts given by God. One of the wonderful things about these gifts is that you can use yours to build up God’s kingdom. That doesn’t mean that you have to start a ministry if that’s not what God’s called you to do.

Instead, it means that wherever you’re planted, that is your ministry.

Jesus says in John 12:27, “Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? Father, save Me from this hour? But for this purpose, I came to this hour.” Can you say like Jesus “For this cause I came?”

There is something that only you can do. Others may be doing something similar but they can’t do it the way that you can. No one else has your testimony. No one can use your gifts the way that you can. No one can build up God’s Kingdom the way that He has purposed for you.

God has a plan for your life. (See Jeremiah 29:11)

Before the foundations of the earth were formed, He knew what your divine calling would be.

In what direction is He leading you right now? It may take some prayer and fasting to answer that question. Be assured that the closer your relationship with your Heavenly Father becomes, He will make His purpose for your life known.

And, when you know what your purpose is, walk in it freely and joyfully. You are set apart to impact people’s lives. When you do that, you will not only be joy-filled but you will honor God with your life.

“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:4-5 NLT)
