I love the creation story, especially the part where God creates woman. Unlike any other creature, woman was brought into the world in a unique and special way. This act of creation speaks volumes about the value and significance God places on women.
God’s love for His people is profound. He loved us so much that He sent Jesus to die for our sins (John 3:16). Despite this incredible love, many women struggle to recognize their true worth. Too often, they live in bondage, believing lies about themselves:
- They can never overcome their past.
- They are defined by the lies others have told them.
- They are too old, too young, too fat, too uneducated, or too [fill in the blank] to be of value.
- They are a fraud, and someone will eventually find them out.
The bad news is that you are who you believe you are. If you believe these negative things, you are right.
But the good news is that you are who you believe you are. You have the power to choose who you will be.
The Word of God tells us that when we give our lives to Him, we become new creations; the old has passed away (2 Corinthians 5:17). Because we belong to Him, we have the power, through Christ, to change the things we believe about ourselves and replace them with God’s truth (Romans 12:2).
How can we do this? By following these steps:
- Change what you say about yourself: Your words are more powerful than you realize. You can speak life or death over yourself; the choice is yours. Start speaking positive, life-affirming words about yourself.
- Believe God’s promises: The Bible is full of affirmations of your worth and value. It says you are a masterpiece, you are loved with an everlasting love, you are a joint heir with Christ. Go on a treasure hunt in your Bible and find specific scriptures that counter the negative beliefs you hold.
- Lay your negative beliefs at the cross: You are carrying burdens you were never meant to carry. Take them to Jesus and let Him handle them; He is far more capable than you are.
Never allow the lies of the enemy to make you believe that you are anything less than the fabulous woman God created you to be. Be proud to say exactly who you are: a beloved daughter of the King, a new creation in Christ, a masterpiece of God’s design.
In moments of doubt, remember these truths:
- You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).
- You are loved with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3).
- You are a joint heir with Christ (Romans 8:17).
- You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you (Philippians 4:13).
God’s Word is a powerful tool for transformation. By aligning your beliefs with His truth, you can break free from the lies that have held you back. Embrace the identity God has given you, and walk confidently in the knowledge of who you are in Him.
So, who do you say you are?
Let your answer reflect the incredible truth of God’s love and purpose, calling, and assignment for your life. You are valued, you are loved, and you are enough just as you are.
